Indian Garden Farms

The Place: Bridgewater, Nova Scotia
The Treasure: Indian Garden Farms

Surprisingly close to the town of Bridgewater this farm has been in operation for over 150 years.

Indian Garden Farms’ main building and store has all of their farm-grown produce as well as an assortment of baked goods from a couple different vendors. Upstairs they also have a craft section featuring local artisans – a great place to pick up a few things for Christmas, it’s never too early to start! 😉

Depending on the time of year many of their greenhouses open and bursting with plants for you to buy. We boosted our garden with some highbush blueberries, currants, raspberries and strawberries from them.

Although it wasn’t open at the time we went (too early in the season) they have a fantastic u-pick selection. Strawberries should be up soon!

Indian Garden Farms has a laid back and fun atmosphere. The staff has always been courteous to us and very helpful.

One of the best parts of going is the view, although Treasure Bear was distracted by his tractor ride:

We recommend spending a few minutes taking it all in:

Fresh produce is a reason to go, the view is a reason to keep coming back.
